Riccardo muti and beethoven
“In Beethoven, we have the sensation of notes that get lost upwards in space. The most understandable, the most eloquent, the most human of musicians, who at some point leaves us to head towards places where the air is rarefied.“
Riccardo Muti
Riccardo Muti reads the Heiligenstadt Testament to Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini.
Considered as Beethoven’s veritable spiritual testament,
the document dates back to the 6th of October 1802
and witnesses the composer’s difficulty with the acceptance of hearing loss.
